The word of the moment has to be, uncertain. Whether you’re working from home or went back to the office, you may be feeling uncertain about the future and your daily routine. Finding a balance with work, home, kids, health and self-care feels unattainable right now but that isn’t stopping some hopeful and determined people from trying. That is what I call gentle strength; a sort of grace under pressure. Practice the Gentle Strength 30 min. yoga routine with me in the video below!
With yoga studios closed yet again, virtual yoga seems like it’s here to stay. While I am a purest and find the virtual world missing key psychological and of course social components, the virtual world has been able to make yoga accessible to everyone, everywhere, safely and that’s something I can get behind. However, with so much to juggle in a stressed time, many of my Alif Yoga students and Voicebowl readers have requested a shorter yoga routine to practice daily. So, to honor your request, I’ve done a short, sweet and effective full body yoga class ideal for beginners and intermediate students alike. In the video below you’ll find gentle and effective postures that touch on almost every major muscle in your body.
While recording this video, I found myself in a one legged downward dog, queuing, “nothing fancy, just lift your right leg.” I wanted this class to be simple so it could fill the need in all of us right now for efficiency and simplicity. To build a bit of mental and physical strength, I added two somewhat challenging postures. Also, you’ll notice that we are not moving fast from posture to posture in this routine and rather we’re focusing on moving gracefully. Which is another subtle reminder to go with the flow of life. Hope you can find your gentle strength in this yoga practice and hope it carries through into your daily life.
